Hollywood star Jennifer Lopez confessed that she and her husband, Ben Affleck, have “PTSD” from their initial romance that dates back to the early 2000s. Social media users believe that the couple’s marriage will not last and will most likely “end in divorce.”
Iconic musician and actress Jennifer Lopez, 54, admitted that she and her husband, Ben Affleck, 51, still have emotional scars from their initial romance before they got married. Years before tying the knot last year, Affleck and Lopez became a Hollywood ‘It’ couple after embarking on a romantic relationship in the early 2000s.
Their relationship was so popular that many referred to them by their couple’s name: Bennifer. Unfortunately, Lopez and Affleck did not make it down the aisle despite getting engaged.
However, they rekindled their romance in 2021 and went on to marry in Las Vegas in 2022. Although the couple is back on solid ground as far as their relationship is concerned, Lopez recently confessed, “We both have PTSD.”
Still, the couple’s marriage has been a point of criticism and since they tied the knot, many people expressed their predictions that the couple will not “last.” Of their marriage, one social media user said, “It’ll end in divorce.”
Another person even went so far as to put a timeline on their marriage and commented that it “won’t last another 5 years.”
Although most people had negative things to say about the longevity of Affleck and Lopez’s marriage, others showed support for the couple. In this regard, one fan expressed, “I’m very happy for them.” Another fan swooned, “Love them two!” and someone else sent well wishes their way and stated, “Bless you all.”
The emotional scars from their first romantic go-around were exacerbated by the unprecedented media coverage and public scrutiny that plagued their early romance. Thus, naturally, given that this part of their lives is set to be brought into the spotlight again with Lopez’s upcoming “This Is Me…Now” album and accompanying film, the couple can’t help but feel nervous about having to relive those memories.
However, Lopez and Affleck refuse to let their current romance be overtaken and overshadowed by what happened between them in the past. And despite the pain from the past, she declared that they are now mature and well-placed to handle the situation.
The “Selena” talent mentioned how she and her husband are wiser and now recognize what is important to them and will not be fussed about what other people think or have to say.
