Megan Thee Stallion Confused About Beef With Nicki Minaj: ‘Don’t Know What The Problem Is’

Megan Thee Stallion went to war with Nicki Minaj on wax earlier this year – but she still has no real idea what Minaj’s issue was in the first place.

Talking to Billboard for an in-depth interview published on Wednesday (September 4), Meg reflected on the epic back and forth sparked by her song “Hiss” — which was in response to subliminals her former collaborator had made on prior songs.

“I still to this day don’t know what the problem is,” Meg admitted. “I don’t even know what could be reconciled because I, to this day, don’t know what the problem is.”

However, she knows she has to be doing something good if people feel that threatened by her.

“I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing,” she noted. “If people feel like I’m somebody to aim at, then I must be pretty high up if you’re reaching up at me. I must be some kind of competition. That makes me feel good. That makes me feel like I could rap because if I wasn’t the shit, y’all wouldn’t be worried about me.”

In 2023, Minaj took an overt swipe at Meg on Pink Friday 2’s “FTCU,” rapping: “Stay in your Tory Lanez, bitch, I’m not Iggy.” This of course referenced the time Tory shot Megan — and Meg didn’t wait long to  hit back.

Just over a month later, Megan’s venomous song “Hiss” made a thinly-veiled reference to Nicki’s husband Kenneth Petty’s 1995 conviction for attempted rape on a 16-year-old.

“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” she rapped, citing the federal law requiring authorities to make information available to the public regarding registered sex offenders.

The “Superbass” star fired back with the equally vicious “Big Foot,” which included a number of lurid accusations as well as taunts about the death of Megan’s mother and aforementioned shooting incident.

Things soon cooled off, with Nicki being widely criticized and Megan being deemed by many — including Charlamagne Tha God — to have come out on top.

On her June album Megan, the Houston rapper had several more shots for her fierce rival. Nicki has not responded as yet.
